Tabor

Hillsboro, Kan. – Senior Antowine Lamb highlighted the day with a school record 2.08m high jump, as the McPherson College track team was in action at the Tabor Invitational Wednesday afternoon in Hillsboro, Kan.

Lamb’s jump, a personal and program best, broke his previous record of 2.07m from last season. Prior to Lamb, David Bader held the McPherson College record of 2.06m. Bader set the record in 1987.

Junior Mitchell Krier vaulted for the first time since the NAIA National Indoor meet, clearing 4.72m to take first place in the men’s pole vault, while Ginikachi Ibe showed his athleticism with a personal record of 6.34m in the long jump.

On the track, freshman Ben Barker finished 15th in the 100-meter dash, while Kyle Smith crossed the line in 11th with a time of 4:32.61 in the 1,500-meter race.

On the women’s side, Andrea Swanson tied her season best with a throw of 13.37m in the shot put. Swanson’s throw was 1.51m longer than the second place finisher. Other participants for the women included Krissa Fuentes and Sonia Fuentes.

The Bulldogs will now head to Lawrence, where they will compete in the Kansas Relays. The event will begin Thursday and run through Saturday.
